The Saudi football club Al Nassr has set a backup plan in anticipation of potential failed negotiations to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker from English club Liverpool during the summer transfer window of 2024. Al Nassr is looking to acquire a distinguished foreign goalkeeper to strengthen this position following the departure of Colombian David Ospina.
Italian journalist Nicolo Schira reported on his social media account on "X" that Al Nassr is keen to sign a new goalkeeper, with Alisson Becker (31 years old) being the primary candidate. Schira mentioned that Al Nassr has developed an alternative plan after another Saudi team reached out to Alisson Becker for a possible signing this summer.
Additionally, it was noted that Al Nassr is targeting Costa Rican Keylor Navas, the former goalkeeper for French club Paris Saint-Germain, and Polish Wojciech Szczesny, the current goalkeeper for Italian club Juventus. He added that a substantial contract has been offered to Szczesny until 2026, but it appears that the Polish goalkeeper prefers to continue playing in Europe and remain with Juventus.
