Fighting and street warfare between the Israeli army and armed Palestinian factions continue in the Gaza Strip, with no signs of an imminent ceasefire emerging today, Saturday. A severe humanitarian crisis affects hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians after their homes were destroyed due to Israeli bombardment. The Palestinian Information Center reported that Israel bombed homes in the Al-Manara neighborhood in southeastern Khan Younis, resulting in casualties and injuries.
Heavy clashes were also reported between Palestinian fighters and the Israeli army in the Tal Zaatar area of the Jabalia camp. Palestinian media have stated that clashes erupted in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City amid intense Israeli artillery fire. The Government Media Office in Gaza announced that the number of Palestinian casualties due to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 18,800, including 8,000 children, 6,200 women, and nearly 330 medical and civil defense personnel, noting that the number of injured has increased to 51,000.
Israel has also killed another Palestinian journalist and three rescue team members in a bombing of a school sheltering displaced persons in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. Several citizens and medical personnel were injured in the Israeli bombardment. The Palestinian agency reported that ambulances were unable to reach the site due to intensified Israeli artillery shelling on the school and its surroundings, coupled with communication disruptions. The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate reported that the number of journalists killed since the beginning of the Israeli war on October 7 has risen to around 75 journalists.
