The United Nations welcomed Israel's announcement on Sunday of a daily ceasefire in military operations in southern Gaza, while urging that "this should lead to further concrete actions" to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery, according to a spokesperson in Geneva speaking to AFP. Jens Laerke, spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), stated: "We welcome this announcement, but certainly, it has not yet translated into more assistance for the populations in need."
