Berri Sends Hezbollah's Message to Hoekstein and from Him to Israel

Sources from the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, reported that "Berri was asked in a conversation with 'Russia Today' about claims that U.S. envoy Amos Hoekstein requested Hezbollah to withdraw 8 kilometers, to which he responded, 'Yes, and the Israelis should withdraw 8 kilometers as well,'" according to MTV. MTV's information indicated that "Berri was listening during the meeting with Hoekstein and did not delve into details or respond to Hoekstein's proposals, only taking notes on paper." The sources added: "Berri conveyed the party’s message to Hoekstein, who returned to Israel to inform officials there that the position had not changed and that the ceasefire in Gaza is fundamental for negotiations."
