Gallant: We Do Not Seek War with Hezbollah

Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant made it clear to the Americans that "Israel does not seek war with Hezbollah but rather a settlement if possible." Yedioth Ahronoth quoted Gallant as saying, "I told the Americans we do not want a war in the north and we will accept an agreement that keeps Hezbollah away from the borders." Gallant indicated that "we are preparing military forces for any intervention in Lebanon while pursuing the diplomatic option, which is always preferable."
