The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities published today, Sunday, the latest photos of the bed of Amina Hanem Ilhami, the mother of Khedive Abbas Helmi II and Prince Mohamed Ali Tawfiq. The photos showed a team of restorers alongside the bed at the Museum of Prince Mohamed Ali in Manial. This comes following rumors circulated by activists on Facebook about the theft of Amina Hanem Ilhami's silver bed, who was the only wife of Khedive Mohamed Tawfiq, who ruled Egypt in late June 1879.
The bed was displayed on the second floor in the winter hall of the throne palace at the house of Prince Mohamed Ali in Manial. Sources indicated that the bed had been moved to the restoration laboratory in the museum a year ago, and its restoration was completed. They confirmed that it is now present at the private museum in Manial, as per the request of the exhibition scenario committee. Additionally, it was mentioned that it will be displayed in the private museum that will open soon.
