A power outage in several areas of Manchester, northwest England, has caused the cancellation and delay of all departing flights from the city's airport. British broadcaster "Sky News" reported that "all departing flights from Manchester Airport are experiencing cancellations and significant delays following the power outage in the area."
It added that "power has been restored to the area, but the impact of the outage will affect services throughout the day as the airport resumes operations." Travelers inside the airport are already facing substantial delays and potential cancellations, while passengers traveling on later flights who have not yet made their way to the airport are advised not to go there without first checking with their airline.
Manchester Airport stated in a statement that "passengers scheduled to travel from Terminals 1 or 2 are advised to contact their airlines for the latest information before coming to the airport." It added that "passengers slated to travel from Terminal 3 may face delays but should come to the airport as usual unless advised otherwise by their airline." The airport is currently working to restore all services as quickly as possible but cannot provide a timeline at this moment.
