Hossam Zaki in Beirut "Suddenly" and Tour of Officials Concerned with the Presidential File

The Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, arrived in Lebanon yesterday unexpectedly and without prior notice for a two-day mission assigned personally by the Secretary-General of the League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, to investigate Lebanese positions on the recent developments on various internal, regional, political, and security levels. Arab diplomatic sources informed "Al-Jumhuriya" that Zaki will start his tour today, meeting with officials including the Speaker of the Parliament and the Head of the Caretaker Government, Nabih Berri and Najib Mikati, before proceeding to meet leaders of the parties and parliamentary blocs concerned with the presidential election.
