The sounds of explosions heard in the southern region, the Khaloub district, and the coastline are attributed to the Israeli warplanes violating the sound barrier multiple times.
The Al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of Hamas - announced in a military statement that they "sniped an Israeli soldier in the industrial area of the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood west of Gaza City," amid the ongoing Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip. They revealed that they "detonated an anti-personnel device with a ground engineering force, causing casualties among their ranks, dead and injured, in the Brazil neighborhood east of Rafah."
