Emirati businessman and billionaire Khalaf Al Habtoor revealed the reasons for his investment in Egypt and the secret of his growing love for the country, affirming that he fell in love with Egypt during his visit in the 1960s and has not been able to recover from this affection and admiration until today.
In a post on his official page on X, Al Habtoor shared with his followers the reasons behind his love for Egypt, which sparked a buzz and admiration among all his fans. He stated in his post: "Since my first visit to beloved Egypt in the late 1960s, I fell in love with it, and I have not been able to recover from this love until today, with my admiration renewing every time I set foot on its blessed land. The love for Egypt, the mother of the world, is not mine alone; its magic has touched everyone who has visited or heard of it."
He added: "In the early 20th century, Egypt was a hub for art, science, culture, industry, and economy. This began in the 1920s when the arts and culture flourished in Egypt, leading foreign artists to flock there to build their careers, with even American musicians seeking a home in 'the mother of the world,' such as famous jazz artists Billy Brooks and George Duncan. The world's fascination with ancient Egyptian culture became so intense that it inspired the most famous fashion designers in America and Europe to draw from Egyptian civilization in their works. The film industry also saw numerous productions about it."
Furthermore, he stated, "Regarding architecture, neoclassical trends dominated the building styles and engineering of prominent buildings in Cairo, transforming it into 'the Paris of the Nile,' where iconic structures still stand proudly today, witnessing this great history in its streets."
The Emirati billionaire emphasized that Egypt is globally recognized as a tourist destination because of its distinctive features on the world's tourism map, including recreational, cultural, environmental, and therapeutic aspects. He noted that it is also known for its superior industries in various fields such as mineral extraction and manufacturing, heavy industries, textiles, food production, and its agricultural products that are supplied everywhere in the world.
He added: "We have always heard about global companies that launched their luxury models in Egypt first, like Rolls Royce, and how Egypt used to grant loans to some countries like Japan. I personally witnessed a time that resembled the classy Hollywood films in terms of its people's elegance, the refinement of its atmosphere, the cleanliness of its streets, and the taste of its shops."
He concluded his remarks about Egypt by saying: "Egypt is beautiful in all its stages and its role as a key player on the global stage cannot change. May God protect it and its people and keep evil and envy away from it."
