Controversial Restaurant Restricts Entry Based on Age (Video)

An American restaurant has faced a wave of criticism for imposing different age restrictions on men and women. The "Bliss" restaurant, located in St. Louis, Missouri, prohibits women under 30 years old and men under 35 from entering, in order to maintain a "calm and exciting" atmosphere. The owner, businessman Marvin Pat, hopes that this unusual restriction will create a fantastic environment for his more mature clientele. However, many are upset by the unconventional rules.

Pat stated, "Customers must show their ID at the door after 7 PM on weekdays, which are Wednesday to Sunday. Older customers come to enjoy a relaxing time with a good meal, so there’s no need for young people who bring noise and drama." He acknowledged the intense backlash saying, "Of course, we received some strong reactions," adding, "But that's okay because we are committed to our rules. It represents pure happiness and a pure utopia. It’s a getaway where you can come and feel like you're in a resort."
