In a strange incident, an Iraqi officer committed suicide in the heart of Baghdad, leaving behind a will explaining what happened. Security forces found the officer's body on Al-Falah Street in Sector 18 within Sadr City, east of Baghdad, noting that he resided in Sector 36. The officer took his own life after consuming toxic substances found near him and also left a note beside him detailing his will and the reason for his action.
The will revealed that the officer took his life after learning that someone had taken money from citizens in exchange for issuing weapon possession IDs and job appointments in his name without his knowledge, which led to his involvement in financial issues that prompted him to end his life. Meanwhile, official security authorities have not provided any new information about the incident, seemingly awaiting the conclusion of investigations.
This difficult incident has occupied the Iraqi community in recent hours. Many have called on social media for the arrest of those mentioned by the late officer and for an investigation into them, demanding verification of the claims made in his will. If they are indeed implicated, comments have called for the harshest penalties to be imposed on them as a lesson to others.
