The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced today, Wednesday, that an earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale occurred near the Iraqi-Iranian border. In a statement, the ministry noted that "seismic observatories in the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded the earthquake this morning in Sulaymaniyah province," specifying that "the quake was registered at 9:23 AM local time and was located 36 km northeast of Raniya, near the Iraqi-Iranian border." They added that "there were no reports of citizens feeling the tremor, and we have not received any reports of material or human losses."
