Countries in the region and those in the eastern Mediterranean basin are still under the influence of hot, dry air masses accompanied by dust-laden khamasin winds, which have led to a noticeable rise in temperatures peaking today, Thursday, at over 38 degrees. The wave is expected to gradually recede starting tomorrow, Friday, with temperatures decreasing noticeably along with some local fluctuations and muddy rain over the weekend. Weather conditions are anticipated to turn variable and occasionally rainy starting Sunday, with temperatures returning to their normal levels. Health ministries in the region have urged citizens to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, especially for the elderly and those with chronic diseases, to refrain from unnecessary physical exertion, to drink plenty of water, and to stay indoors as much as possible.
