Ministry of Education Clarifies Student Transfer Mechanism to Safe Schools

The media office of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education issued a statement in which it noted: Several news outlets are circulating a report accusing an employee in the educational district of Baalbek-Hermel of making unilateral decisions regarding the transfer of teaching staff in the region, in the absence of the ministry. The media office urges news websites to source accurate information and not contribute to spreading rumors and false news.

It emphasizes that the educational district in Baalbek-Hermel, like all administrative units in the ministry, is committed to applying laws and ensuring the public interest. The ministry, its directorates, and its educational regions call on anyone accusing them of bypassing applicable regulations to present evidence and proofs to the relevant oversight bodies and judiciary.

If some of those affected are upset with the educational district's strict adherence to the law, distancing itself from selectivity and favoritism, they are undoubtedly behind these cheap fabrications.

It stressed that the working mechanisms followed in the ministry and, consequently, in the educational district of Baalbek-Hermel refute these allegations. The process of "allocating teachers to certain schools" is, in fact, about transferring teachers from the staff or contracting from one school to another, especially since the transfer process begins by assessing the needs of the school from which the transfer is requested, where a replacement for the applicant must be secured, as well as the school to which the transfer is requested, where the need for the applicant's services must be demonstrated.

This is the sole role confined to district studies, including the employee mentioned in the published news, based on statistical data prepared by school directors and thoroughly reviewed by the educational district. The educational district then forwards the transfer request along with the appropriate recommendation through the administrative sequence to the concerned reference in the ministry, which has the exclusive authority to make the decision; thus, it is not the employee (L.S.) or anyone else who decides in this regard, but rather the minister in the case of staff teachers or the general director in the case of contractors.

In conclusion, it cautioned the promoters of irresponsible news that the ministry reserves the right to pursue personal claims and will follow up on offenders in the relevant judiciary.
