Two Arrested for Drug Trafficking in the Southern Suburb

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement today, Saturday: "As part of the continuous monitoring carried out by the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking and promotion operations across different regions of Lebanon, information was received by the Information Branch regarding two unidentified individuals promoting narcotic substances in the southern suburb on a black motorbike. The Information Branch arrested them in the act despite their resistance.

Following this, the relevant divisions of the branch initiated field and investigatory procedures to identify the suspects and apprehend them. As a result of extensive investigations and inquires, they were able to identify their identities as follows:

- M. Q. (born in 2003, Syrian)

- A. H. (born in 1994, Lebanese), who has a previous criminal record related to drugs.

On April 17, 2024, after careful surveillance, one of the branch patrols was able to arrest them in the southern suburb, caught in the act while promoting drugs on a black, stolen "Sweet" motorbike without license plates. During the arrest, one of them brandished a military pistol at the patrol officers, who managed to control the situation and seize the pistol.

Upon searching them, the following items were found in their possession:

- 8 packages labeled "VIP BUZZ," each weighing approximately 4.1 grams

- 2 packages labeled "SPECIAL BUZZ," each weighing approximately 4.9 grams

- 11 packages labeled "NET," each weighing approximately 4.5 grams

- 8 packages labeled "Buzz," each weighing approximately 4.5 grams

- 9 packages labeled "PURE," each weighing approximately 4.3 grams

- 23 packages labeled "BUZZ," each weighing approximately 4.2 grams

- 9 packages of cocaine, each weighing approximately 4.2 grams

- 15 packages of cocaine, each weighing approximately 4.1 grams

- 3 packages of cocaine labeled "Abu Abbas BOOM," each weighing approximately 10 grams

- A sum of money and a mobile phone

During the investigation, they confessed to the charges against them regarding drug trafficking on behalf of a dealer in the southern suburb, as well as their own use of the substances. They also stated that they received the motorbike and the pistol from the dealer for use during promotional operations.

Legal measures have been taken against them, and they, along with the seized items, have been referred to the competent judicial authority."
