U.S. President Joe Biden will meet today, Friday, with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to discuss Ukraine, defense cooperation, and immigration during a meeting at the White House. In this context, a Spanish diplomatic source stated that "despite the agreement between Madrid and Washington on the illegitimacy of the invasion that Russia began in Ukraine in February 2022, Sánchez will convey the differing perspectives held by China and Brazil and will suggest placing greater importance on the views of non-NATO countries affected by the war." A White House official noted that "China and Brazil are playing a role in peace talks," emphasizing that "ending the war must respect the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity." He added: "We support the Ukrainian president's call for a just end to the Russian war, including sovereignty and territorial integrity." He continued: "Biden will thank Sánchez for Spain's commitment to cooperating in expanding 'migration pathways' for individuals from Latin America. They will also discuss efforts to strengthen defense relations between the United States and Spain."
