The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced today, Saturday, that it conducted an air operation in northern Syria and Iraq, during which it destroyed 29 targets and neutralized dozens of Kurdish militants. The Turkish defense stated in a statement that "the Turkish airstrikes targeted hideouts, shelters, and oil facilities of terrorists in the Hakurk, Gara, and Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq, as well as terrorist targets in northern Syria." The statement emphasized that "the Turkish army will continue its efforts to combat terrorism with full determination and resolve to ensure the security of the country and its citizens until the last terrorist is neutralized." It was noted that Ankara reported the death of 9 Turkish soldiers during clashes with militants from the Kurdistan Workers' Party, which Ankara classifies as a terrorist organization, in northern Iraq yesterday, Friday. It is worth mentioning that the Turkish army continuously conducts operations against Kurdish militants in northern Iraq and Syria as part of Operation "Claw-Lock," which was launched in April 2022.
