Earthquake Strikes Poland, Trapping Miners

A powerful earthquake in Poland has trapped 78 workers underground at the Rudna mine in the southern part of the country, according to the "Novosti" agency. The head of the Silesia province, Marek Wojcik, confirmed that "most of the miners who were in the Rudna mine in southern Poland have been brought to the surface after the earthquake, and rescuers are searching for two others."

He added, "After the incident, 17 workers were taken to the hospital with varying degrees of injuries," noting that "their lives are not in danger." According to available information, one of the individuals still trapped underground has been located, but rescue teams have not yet been able to reach him. Rescue operations are still ongoing at the site, but high temperatures there complicate the work of rescuers. There are also concerns about potential aftershocks.
