The former Egyptian Minister of Awqaf and Islamic researcher Saad Al-Feki commented on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements regarding the elimination of Haman and the Rafah military operation. Al-Feki expressed surprise in statements to "Russia Today" about Netanyahu's linking of his pledge to eliminate Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza to the eradication of "Haman" in Egypt.
Al-Feki confirmed that “the name Haman appears in the Holy Quran in six places, with two of these explicitly indicating that Haman was part of Pharaoh's court,” citing God's words: “And Pharaoh said, 'O Haman, build for me a tower that I may reach the destinations,' and in another verse: 'And Pharaoh said, 'O Haman, construct for me a tower that I may reach the heavens.'"
The Egyptian Islamic researcher continued: “The opinions of interpreters and researchers regarding the term Haman vary, whether it refers to a specific individual’s name or is a title given to the king's minister or deputy. Some suggest Haman is a title for the king’s deputy or minister, rather than being a specific person's name; thus, the term Haman can rightly apply to any deputy of Pharaoh or any other earthly king.”
Al-Feki noted: “As Ibn Ashour mentioned in his work 'Tahrir wa Tanweer': ‘I believe that Haman is not a proper name, but rather a functional title similar to Pharaoh, Khosrow, Caesar, and the Negus, suggesting Haman was a title for the king's minister in Egypt at that time.’”
The Egyptian researcher pointed out that “Benjamin Netanyahu intends to carry out a military operation in the city of Rafah, and his statement (We cannot defeat absolute evil by leaving Rafah... We will enter Rafah) reflects racist remarks and demonstrates that the 'Zionist' Prime Minister continues to fulfill the task assigned to him amid a glaring international blackout, which is the genocide of the Palestinians in light of the deafening silence of international entities, organizations, and the United Nations."
