An alarming scene has provoked outrage among many in Iraq after a video surfaced showing a group of young people gathered around the grave of the Iraqi blogger Umm Fahd, who passed away recently. In the video, they are seen dancing, yelling, and spitting on the grave. The disturbing footage has circulated widely on various social media platforms in Iraq, leading many to question the respect for the deceased.
The video shows young people mocking Umm Fahd, who was killed a month ago by unknown individuals. One user on Facebook commented, "The woman has gone to her rightful place and is now with her Creator; these actions signify only one thing. Those who were given bread did not learn proper upbringing."
Another user stated, "The gathering of youth at Umm Fahd's grave and the desecration is painful, shameful, and terrifying. The grave of the deceased holds sanctity in all religions, and it's shocking that young people are filming such scenes in cemeteries."
While another commentator expressed frustration, saying, “Now a group of reckless individuals are screaming, mocking, and spitting on Umm Fahd's grave. Where is the respect for the deceased? We are fed up with your foul dirtiness and actions that have no connection to Iraqis.”
The reactions have called for accountability for the youth involved and those responsible for the situation.
