Japanese Tool Predicts When You Might Resign

Employers worried about how long an employee will stay in their position before resigning will soon be able to rely on a new artificial intelligence tool to identify which employees are likely to leave the company. This tool was developed by Japanese researchers to help companies provide specific support to their employees in order to dissuade them from resigning.

The tool, created by a professor at Tokyo City University in collaboration with a local startup, analyzes various employee data, ranging from attendance rates to personal information such as age and gender. It is also capable of analyzing data from former employees who left the company. Professor Naruhiko Shiratori explained that with all this data, the tool predicts the resignation rate of new employees as a percentage.

According to the Agence France-Presse, Shiratori mentioned, "We are in the testing phase of this tool in many companies by creating a model for each of them." Employers can use the results to "suggest to the employee who is most likely to resign that the company is ready to offer support," as the AI predicts the likelihood of them "facing difficulties," without informing them of potentially shocking results, Shiratori added.
