A Egyptian court ruled today, Thursday, to sentence Al Ahly player Hussain El Shahat to one year in prison, suspended for three years. The court also imposed a fine of 100,000 Egyptian pounds and banned him from membership in any sports organization for his assault on Pyramids player, Moroccan Mohamed El Sheibi, during a match between their teams. The incident occurred during a Premier League football match between Pyramids and Al Ahly, where Hussain El Shahat attacked Mohamed El Sheibi and verbally assaulted him in front of millions of viewers. In El Sheibi's complaint, he accused Hussain El Shahat of "bullying, assault, verbal abuse, insult, intimidation, and threatening physical harm," all leading to psychological and physical harm following the publication of videos regarding the slapping incident on various social media platforms.
