Former Barcelona Player Warns Messi of Major Risks in American League

Riqui Puig welcomed Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi to the American league but warned them of one of the major risks of the competition. Messi left Paris Saint-Germain this summer after the end of his contract to join Inter Miami, before being followed by Sergio Busquets, who decided to play for the same team after leaving Barcelona.

Riqui Puig, who previously played with them at the Catalan club, told the Spanish newspaper "as": "The American league has a great future; Leo and Busquets can contribute a lot to this competition, and the league will offer them a lot as this place can teach them many things."

He added: "I managed to talk to Busquets, and he is very happy to be playing in a competitive league at a high level, where any team can beat another."

He clarified that "the only thing I don't like about the American league is the long trips and time zone changes; sometimes breaks can be very tough for any player."

It is worth noting that the 23-year-old Puig graduated from Barcelona's academy and left the club in 2022 to join the American club Los Angeles Galaxy on a free transfer.
