Sofiane Zaidi: My Song 'Zine Kbel' Was to Be Composed by Al-Hadi Al-Juwaini

The artist Sofiane Zaidi presented his new artistic work "Al Zain Kbel" on the program "Njoum," which features lyrics by poet Samir Kamoun and a musical arrangement by Marwan Zaidi, with melodies by Nasser Samoud. He revealed that the song was initially intended to be composed by the late Tunisian artist Al-Hadi Al-Juwaini, explaining, "This information was confirmed to me by poet Samir Kamoun, the author of the lyrics, and there are photos documenting that, which is an honor for me... and today the great composer Nasser Samoud has added his own unique touch to it."

Sofiane Zaidi also spoke about the lyrics of his song "Zine Kbel," noting that returning to the past is beneficial at any time, and that "Zine Kbel represents the innocent beauty with accessories used during that period, such as the 'sifsari' and henna." He confirmed that his absence from the scene in recent years was due to his involvement in musical projects like "Al-Rachidia" and the radio spaces he supervised, which led to a lack of new productions.

In a related comment, the guest on "Njoum" spoke about the cancellation of several cultural events in solidarity with the people of Gaza, stating, "The cancellation of festivals means the cancellation of life, and the song festival could have contributed to the Palestinian cause... as it helps raise awareness of the depth of social and political issues."
