Social media in Egypt has been buzzing with a wave of sarcastic and humorous comments about an advertisement by a gynecologist, which featured a promotional board where the text was manipulated in size to read from afar "Birth Without Pregnancy." Activists on social media circulated the promotional board mockingly, with one stating: "Medicine has advanced and evolved, folks. Here’s this offer... Birth Without Pregnancy."
One Facebook user expressed disbelief at the sign, asking, "How can there be birth without pregnancy? Are we going to buy it from the supermarket or win it in a bag of chips?" Among other comments, one sarcastically noted, "Sure, you've heard of painless childbirth, but the new thing in Egypt is birth without pregnancy."
Another user joked about the advertisement: "Birth without pregnancy or effort, unlike the doctors in Mansoura who keep you waiting for two hours for a check-up. Fear God and learn from modern science, keep up with the development."
One activist explained that this advertisement was aimed at attracting attention, adding: "To clarify... it’s attention-grabbing in the Monufia way. If you see the ad for the first time, you’ll only notice the phrase 'Birth Without Pregnancy,' but if you come back and read the ad with focus, you'll see the word 'Easy' under 'Birth' and 'Difficult' above 'Pregnancy.' Thus, the original slogan of the advertisement is 'Easy Birth Without Difficult Pregnancy.'"
