New Expatriate Tragedy: Lebanese Man Killed by His Dentist!

A murder in the state of Michigan, USA, has shocked the community, where an unlicensed dentist shot and killed one of his patients in his home in Dearborn shortly after midnight on July 6, according to preliminary investigations and a report from the Dearborn Police.

The Dearborn Police announced charges against Zaid Al-Baddour (52 years old) for the death of Ahmad Nasr al-Din (Lebanese), who was found shot in a home on Olmstead Street, near downtown. Al-Baddour has been charged with first-degree murder, in addition to a felony firearm charge.

Al-Baddour was operating a dental clinic from the basement of the house, and Nasr al-Din had contacted him, asking him to do something about his tooth pain. In response, Al-Baddour told Nasr al-Din to come to his home in the middle of the night to alleviate some of the pain, according to the victim's sister.

His sister noted that this was not the first time the victim had contacted Al-Baddour, as he had visited him several times to avoid the high fees of dental clinics, "but apparently those visits had caused him severe pain."

The victim's family believes that Al-Baddour felt threatened by Nasr al-Din and thought he might inform the authorities about the alleged illegal practice. Al-Baddour was arrested on the same day as the crime.

A police report stated that upon arriving at the scene, patrol officers found a blood-stained body in a sunroom, with the victim having been shot in the head and dying instantly.

After investigating the victim's and the suspect's phones, it showed that the two men had been in contact, and Al-Baddour was aware that Nasr al-Din was coming to see him at his home that night. According to the investigation, the two exchanged several text messages and phone calls.

According to Nasr's mother, he had been suffering from severe tooth pain for several days and had asked her for painkillers. The victim's body was transferred to Lebanon to be buried in his hometown, Shahabiya, in the southern region of Tyre.
