The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As part of the continuous follow-up conducted by the specialized units in the Internal Security Forces to limit drug trafficking and promotion operations in various Lebanese areas, information was received about an unknown individual promoting drugs in the southern suburb and its surroundings." It added, "As a result, the specialized units in the Information Division initiated field and investigative procedures to identify the promoter and arrest him. Through inquiries and investigations, they were able to identify him as K. M. (born in 1992, Lebanese)." The statement reported that "on 06-05-2024, following careful surveillance, one of the division's patrols arrested him in flagrante delicto in the San Terese area while he was promoting drugs on a motorcycle, a navy blue 'Suit' model without plates, which was seized. Upon searching him, the motorcycle, and his residence, the following were confiscated: a war pistol with a magazine and 3 usable cartridges; 5 pieces of hashish weighing approximately 117 grams; 5 bags containing marijuana weighing approximately 158 grams; 87 envelopes containing cocaine weighing approximately 255 grams; a counterfeit $100 bill; cash; and a mobile phone." It concluded, "During the investigation, he confessed to the allegations made against him regarding promoting drugs on the motorcycle he was arrested on in the southern suburb and its surroundings on behalf of a trader."
