Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Raï recently moved to the summer residence in Diman, Bsharri District, and began receiving visitors there. He started his summer with a tour of the religious sites near the historic residence overlooking the Holy Valley in Qannoubine. According to "Anbaa," Patriarch Raï is working on restoring the unifying presence of the Maronite Patriarchate for all Lebanese components, as it has functioned since the declaration of Greater Lebanon in 1920. In this context, Raï received advice from a former deputy who has been in the opposition since the start of the millennium, suggesting a call for a comprehensive meeting on September 1, in commemoration of the 124th anniversary of the declaration of Greater Lebanon from the steps of the Sanawar Palace in Beirut in 1920.
Between Diman and Beirut, political communications continue to pump more positivity into attempting to break the deadlock in the stalled presidential file, without indulging in excessive optimism. It has become clear that resolving matters and determining their pace are linked to the timing in Gaza.
