Basma Wahba Considers Retirement and Announces

Egyptian media personality Basma Wahba stated that this season is the last for her famous show "Al-Irfah," and she is contemplating retirement from the media field to dedicate more time to her family. In television statements, Basma Wahba expressed her desire to retire at the height of her success and has already decided to step back from hosting "Al-Irfah" in the coming years due to feeling exhausted.

Regarding her overall decision to retire from the media, she mentioned that she is still in the contemplation stage, as the decision is difficult after practicing the profession for 20 years. She said, "I am afraid that if I take the decision to rest, it may backfire and tire me."

Concerning the "Al-Irfah" show, Basma stressed that this season would be the last as the program is extremely demanding. It is noted that Basma Wahba's show is often controversial due to the bold questions she poses to guests, which sometimes leads to their annoyance. Recently, actress Sherine Reda left the show live on air after Basma Wahba offered her a question card, allowing her the choice to answer or not. Sherine expressed her strong anger, saying, "I think this is too much; I will definitely not read the question, that's it."

Basma commented on the incident by stating, "I disagreed with the production; the question was extremely harsh and personal. Her reaction was natural, and that concluded the episode." Additionally, popular singer Saad El-Soghayar also withdrew from the program due to a question from Basma Wahba.
