The Lebanese Forces Center in Tannourine held a Christmas celebration, attended by member of the Strong Republic Bloc, MP Ghias Yzbek, coordinator of the Batroun region Elias Karam, head of the center lawyer Paul Harb, along with several members of the Lebanese Forces from the town.
Harb emphasized that "the gathering is the greatest proof of the Lebanese people's struggle and their love for living in peace and joy despite the difficulties Lebanon is facing." He added, "We are continuing our struggle with determination and Christian faith, and all our initiatives in Tannourine stem from this spirit; the harsher the challenges, the stronger our resolve to withstand in our land."
For his part, Yzbek affirmed "the importance of trust in the decisions of the Lebanese Forces, which consider Lebanon's delicate situation and serve the country's interests," stating: "Throughout history, justice has always triumphed, and Lebanon has prevailed despite repeated attempts to overthrow it."
Yzbek explained the context behind the extension of the army commander’s term, saying: "It is true that we committed to the principle of not legislating in the absence of a President of the Republic, but the primary issue was related to national security and the state's supreme interest. Based on this fateful reality, we attended the legislative session and encouraged others to extend the army commander’s term for one year to ensure the stability of the military institution and Lebanon. With this approach, we continue our struggle to bring a President who will end the vacancy and lead the rescue and revival process."
He addressed the attendees, saying: "Do not allow anyone to dispirit you; your choices are national and correct. The 'Lebanese Forces' is the only party that has carried and continues to carry the great patriarchal legacy represented by Greater Lebanon, passed down like a shining torch amidst the storms, from Patriarch Huwayek through Patriarch Sfeir to Patriarch Raï."
