The Royal Palace Mourns the Mother of the Moroccan Monarch

The mother of the Moroccan monarch King Mohammed VI, Princess Lalla Latifa, widow of the late King Hassan II, passed away on Saturday, as announced by the official spokesperson for the royal palace in a statement. The statement published by the Moroccan News Agency reads, "The official spokesperson for the royal palace, with deep sadness and sorrow, announces the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Latifa to the mercy of God, on Saturday, the wife of the late King Hassan II, may God rest his soul, and the mother of His Majesty King Mohammed VI." The brief statement added, "As we mourn this great loss, we pray to Almighty God to encompass the noble deceased with His vast mercy and generous forgiveness and to grant her a place in His spacious gardens." The late princess had no official responsibilities and was not known to have participated in public activities.
