Former President Michel Aoun met with a delegation from Hezbollah led by Deputy Mohammad Raad at his residence in Rabieh. The delegation included Deputies Hussein Al-Hajj Hassan, Hassan Fadlallah, Ali Ammar, and Amin Sherri.
After the meeting, Raad stated, "We expressed our appreciation for the bilateral relationship between Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement," considering that "this relationship provided a commitment to the equation of the army, the people, and the resistance, which protected Lebanon from the dangers of Takfiri invasion and Zionist threats."
He added: "This participatory relationship provided a favorable environment for building the state project as stipulated in the National Accord Document, which has not been well received by many." He continued, "We affirm our determination and commitment to continue this relationship with the Free Patriotic Movement based on the principles that President Aoun helped establish, which are based on honesty, clarity, serious national spirit, and mutual understanding, away from noise and controversy."
Raad viewed that "our country today needs the efforts of everyone to come together based on these principles to emerge from the current crisis and resume the process of state-building."
