Experts from the Solar AURA Center for Information Security have warned of suspicious websites being used to hack "Instagram" accounts and steal their data. The experts indicated that they have discovered more than 300 suspicious websites that aim to compromise users' accounts on "Telegram." These websites are typically used for uploading images online.
According to the experts, most of these sites were created in December of last year and resemble well-known websites used for image uploads, featuring hundreds of thousands of images on various topics, such as cartoons, nature, cooking, and more. The danger of these sites, according to specialists, lies in the fact that the data or images contained within are linked to malware. When a user clicks on an image to view it or to find out its original source, they are directed to a link that leads them to a phishing site accessible through their "Telegram" account. Once the user enters this site, their "Telegram" account data is stolen. Even the two-factor authentication system used to protect the account will not help in this situation; if the user enters their account's security code, the hackers will gain access to their profile information, including the ability to change account settings.
