Salah Al-Zoghbi, the father of student Nira Salah (famous as the girl from Al-Arish), who died poisoned after being subjected to cyber blackmail, revealed new details about the moments before her death. He told "Al-Arabiya.net" that his daughter had spoken with her mother a few hours before the incident and told her that she was fasting and needed some money, and they agreed to send it to her via a mobile wallet. He added that after breaking her fast and eating food from the university dormitory, she felt severe cramps and called her mother again to inform her about the pain, requesting her to buy specific medicine to relieve her stomach ache.
He continued, stating that afterward, a supervisor from the university dormitory contacted his wife (Nira's mother) and informed her that their daughter was in the hospital and her condition was critical, asking her to come immediately. He indicated that he later found out about her death, with health reports confirming that she died from severe circulatory collapse.
He expressed his concern about whether his daughter died by suicide or was poisoned, and if she was poisoned, who put the poison in her food and for whose benefit? He revealed that the preliminary death report stated that his daughter died from severe poisoning, affirming that his daughter is a Muslim who "knows the limits of her religion and cannot commit suicide and die as a disbeliever."
The prosecution has decided to exhume her body for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The prosecution confirmed that investigations are ongoing as they await the forensic report to uncover the truth of the incident and the cause of death.
A security source in Egypt announced last Friday that they were investigating the status of the accused student Shurooq Ahmed, along with five of her colleagues, the dormitory supervisor, and one of the late Nira Salah's friends, in preparation for presenting them to the public prosecutor to clarify the circumstances of the incident. The source stated that the father of the accused student Shurooq, who holds the rank of major, has been suspended from work until the investigations are completed to ensure their integrity.
