Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visit to Moscow and meeting with President Vladimir Putin. He renewed accusations against Russia for "shelling a children's hospital in Kyiv." Zelensky wrote on "X": "37 people were killed, including 3 children, and 170 were injured, including 13 children, as a result of the brutal Russian missile strike." He added: "A Russian missile hit the largest children's cancer hospital in Ukraine, burying many of them under the rubble." He continued: "We feel a great disappointment and a devastating blow to peace efforts when we see the leader of the world's largest democracy embrace one of the most brutal criminals in the world in Moscow on such a day." The Russian Ministry of Defense refuted Zelensky's claims, reiterating that "the air defenses of Kyiv's forces deployed among residential areas in Ukrainian cities are what hit civilian buildings after failing each time to intercept the Russian missiles."
