Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Bazshkian, in New Delhi on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit.
According to the spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt's firm position in supporting efforts to restore stability in the region.
He emphasized Egypt's hope that Iran will exert all possible efforts to halt escalation and reach a comprehensive and sustainable peaceful settlement of the crisis, ensuring the sovereignty of regional states and safeguarding the resources of their peoples.
President El-Sisi also stressed the need to stop any aggressions against Arab countries, in order to uphold the principles of good neighborliness and strengthen the historical and cultural ties that unite the peoples of the region.
