In Nepal, 9 People Killed Following Landslides (Video)

Landslides caused by heavy rainfall resulted in the deaths of at least nine people today, Saturday, including an entire family, while they were sleeping in mountainous areas of Nepal, according to officials. The landslides buried homes in three separate locations in the country's mountainous region, approximately 250 kilometers west of the capital, Kathmandu, according to Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority. Five members of a single family were killed when a landslide engulfed their home while they were asleep in the village of Malika in the Gulmi district. Among the victims were a couple, their son’s wife, and two grandsons, including an 8-month-old girl. At least 20 people have died in Nepal from landslides, flooding, and lightning brought on by heavy rains.
