The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the "Islamic Jihad," announced late Friday night the killing of Islam Khamaisi, a leader of the Jenin Brigade, in an Israeli airstrike on the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank. The Israeli Air Force posted a video on its "X" account claiming it was for the elimination of Khamaisi, adding that the operation was conducted under the intelligence guidance of the Shin Bet security service. The post stated: "An aircraft and a helicopter attacked a building that was used as an operations center for the terrorist infrastructure in Jenin."
The post indicated that several key militants were hiding in the building, including those involved in carrying out shooting attacks in the Jenin area and who were planning to carry out additional attacks in the near future. The strike resulted in the killing of Khamaisi, who was described as a "major wanted figure in the Jenin camp and responsible for a series of attacks."
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that at least one person was killed and eight others were injured on Friday in the Israeli air raid on the Jenin refugee camp. The ministry's statement mentioned that the eight injured individuals were in "stable condition" and receiving treatment in two hospitals. According to the statement, "five shrapnel injuries in stable condition arrived at Jenin Government Hospital, while three stable injuries were taken to Ibn Sina Hospital."
