The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today, Friday, that "the head of the Mossad has returned from Doha after an initial meeting with mediators working to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the release of hostages, and that negotiations will resume next week." The statement added that there are still gaps between the two sides.
Media reports indicated that "an Israeli delegation led by the head of the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad's David Barnea, left Doha after a meeting with Qatari mediators regarding ceasefire talks in Gaza."
Israeli Optimism
The Wall Street Journal quoted officials in the Mossad saying, "We believe that the Israeli government will agree to the latest ceasefire proposal for Gaza."
