The National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research in Egypt has warned against the skepticism campaigns that arise during this time of year, casting doubt on the greatest achievement of humanity in the 20th century, namely the landing of humans on the moon on July 20, 1969. The institute stated in a statement that the moon landing remains a scientifically proven fact, regardless of ongoing skepticism campaigns. It noted its participation in this important event by contributing to the selection of astronaut landing sites, emphasizing that established scientific facts refute any attempts to question this significant global event, whether through some artistic works depicting the fluttering of the American flag on the moon's surface or by comparing certain locations to the moon.
The institute further mentioned that humans will land on the moon again in a mission currently being prepared, pointing out that claims regarding the flag shaking due to the wind are a blatant lie, as this occurred when the flag was being set up on the moon’s surface, due to fixation attempts and the shaking of the pole itself. Additionally, the flag was taut because of the lack of strong gravity on the moon to pull it down, and the official NASA video clarifies this issue.
The institute stated that astronauts on Apollo missions 11, 14, and 15 placed reflective mirrors on the moon's surface. Those who believe this is untrue or a conspiracy can verify it themselves using specific tools; all they need to do is direct a laser beam at these mirrors, and the light reflection will be received back on Earth.
