Jordan's Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yusuf Al-Shamali confirmed that "his country has no objection to trade exchange with Syria, but the Syrian side has prevented the entry of Jordanian goods despite the reopening of the Naseeb crossing." During his visit to the Irbid Chamber of Commerce, he stated that "Jordan and Syria share historical ties, and Jordan was one of the first to welcome Syria's return to the Arab League." Al-Shamali emphasized that "the government supports the resumption of trade with sisterly Syria, but on the basis of a balanced relationship that ensures equality and justice between the two sides." He added, "Jordan has no objection to trade exchange with Syria, but the Syrian side has prevented the entry of Jordanian goods despite the reopening of the Naseeb crossing, and Jordan has provided all the necessary facilities for its reopening." The minister pointed out that "Jordan is making significant efforts to curb drug smuggling across the Jordanian-Syrian border through the dedicated efforts of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army."
