UNIFIL Reports Injury of 3 Contractors

UNIFIL's Deputy Director of Communications, Candice Ardil, announced that "earlier today, three contractors working with UNIFIL were injured while returning home from our headquarters in the western sector in the town of Shmeis," due to gunfire on their vehicle. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. She reiterated her condemnation of any "attack on civilians, or any act that endangers civilian lives. This includes the local residents who continue to live in their villages and provide essential services to support peacekeepers in their work." Ardil continued: "We have already witnessed a very high number of injuries and fatalities due to exchange of gunfire. We urge all parties involved in the conflict to cease fire and work towards a diplomatic solution to end the violence."
