The Kuwaiti Criminal Court ruled today, Monday, against the release of presenter Halima Boland, setting June 9 as the date to consider her appeal against a two-year prison sentence with hard labor following her conviction for "inciting immorality and vice." Local media reported that the Criminal Court rejected the request for Boland's release, as well as another accused alongside her, despite both parties presenting concessions in the case.
**Party Concessions**
Kuwaiti media indicated that the first session for Boland in the Court of Appeals witnessed both parties in the case withdrawing their complaints, which led to a decision to release Boland.
**Prison Sentence**
Earlier, the Criminal Court sentenced Boland and her co-defendant to two years in prison with hard labor and a fine of 2,000 dinars. Boland's lawyer, Mariam Al-Bahar, previously stated that her client had a close relationship with the man who accused her in the case and that they were on their way to a formal marriage before he surprised her with a significant change in position that ended with the court's ruling sentencing them both.

The Kuwaiti police arrested the media figure in early May to execute the ruling against her. The case stems from a complaint filed by a Kuwaiti man against Boland, alleging that she incited him through her pictures and "private videos" to immorality and vice. Meanwhile, lawyer Mariam Al-Bahar spoke about the "trap" Boland fell into due to a romantic relationship that developed between the plaintiff and Boland after he met her on the WhatsApp application, promising marriage, and they exchanged "their private photos."
