Salah Muhammad al-Iraqi, a close associate of Sadr Movement leader Muqtada al-Sadr, announced the expulsion of a senior leader from the movement on charges of corruption and betrayal. Al-Iraqi, known as the Minister of Sadr, stated in a message: "We would like to inform the believers, may God honor them with His strength... that the corrupt (Abbas al-Kufi) is expelled on charges of betrayal and corruption, and dealing with him is strictly forbidden in all commercial, financial, and other dealings."
