Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, encountered an unexpected situation while spending his summer vacation. The Daily Mail published a photo showing Haaland at the beach, alongside police officers at the Norwegian star's favorite spot on the Costa. Haaland is seen with his hands in his pockets, preparing to present his ID to the police. The newspaper reported that the Spanish police requested all vacationers to exit the pool in order to check their identities. The consecutive raids followed a series of shootings in the area, previously known as "Operation Marbella" during April. The Spanish police informed beachgoers after the incident through loudspeakers in both Spanish and English: "This is just a routine check... don't worry, nothing dangerous is happening."
