The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced today, Monday, that "information was received by the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces regarding two unknown individuals engaged in drug trafficking in several areas of Mount Lebanon Governorate. Consequently, the relevant units in the branch began their field and inquiry procedures to identify and apprehend the suspects. (born in 1981, Syrian) who had an arrest warrant for drug trafficking and two search and arrest notices for theft by deception, and his wife R. Q. (born in 1986, Syrian). On April 16, 2024, after surveillance, one of the branch's patrols succeeded in arresting them in the town of Deir Qubal while they were in a Geely vehicle used for trafficking operations, which was also seized. Upon searching them, the vehicle, and their home, a quantity of cocaine was found divided into envelopes and prepared for trafficking. During the investigation, they confessed to the charges against them regarding drug trafficking in areas of Mount Lebanon using the seized vehicle. Legal action was taken against them, and they, along with the seized materials, were referred to the concerned authority based on the directive of the competent judiciary."
