Restaurant Owners' Union Condemns Campaign Against Pepsi Company

The Union of Restaurant, Cafe, Entertainment, and Patisserie Owners in Lebanon strongly condemned in a statement the campaign against the Lebanese Modern Trading Company (Pepsi Cola bottler in Lebanon). They stated that "this company is quintessentially Lebanese, employing Lebanese workers, and any attack on it represents a direct harm to Lebanon and all Lebanese." They added, "The Lebanese Modern Trading Company has proven over the years its commitment to contributing to the prosperity and support of the national economy and providing job opportunities for thousands of Lebanese, regardless of their political affiliations or other considerations. Therefore, any attempt to undermine it is considered an attack on Lebanon's economic and social interests." They urged media and the public to "exercise awareness and responsibility in addressing such issues away from any political disputes." The statement concluded by affirming their "support for the Lebanese Modern Trading Company and all Lebanese companies that work diligently and faithfully for the service of the homeland and citizens," and called for "unity and solidarity in the face of any threat targeting Lebanon's stability and prosperity."
