Yair Lapid, leader of the largest opposition party in Israel, announced that he "will provide a safety net for the government to approve the deal if Netanyahu finds it difficult to secure a majority to support it. This safety net may extend the life of this corrupt government, but I will do everything for the captives." Lapid emphasized that "the war cannot continue forever, and reserves cannot be mobilized for long; our economy cannot bear it."
