UAE Celebrates Labor Day Tomorrow

The United Arab Emirates will celebrate "Labor Day" tomorrow, which falls on May 1st each year, reaffirming its absolute commitment to enhancing workers' rights and benefits to the highest global standards, based on its ethical and humanitarian legacy. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation emphasized that elevating and protecting workers' rights and privileges is one of its top priorities and lies at the heart of its strategy, reflecting the values and spirit of tolerance and coexistence that characterize the UAE.

The ministry noted that the UAE has achieved some of the highest global standards in providing social protection, welfare, and professional stability for the workforce through a range of humanitarian initiatives and legislations that have contributed to improving working environments that encourage productivity and creativity, as well as enhancing capabilities to attract talents and innovators.

Under the slogan #OurWorkers_Are_Our_Pride, the ministry is organizing a series of awareness and entertainment events, in collaboration and coordination with its partners from the public and private sectors, to mark "International Workers' Day." These events will last for a week and will include various regions of the country, featuring sports and artistic activities, recreational competitions in different languages, field visits to workplaces and labor accommodations, as well as gift distributions to workers.

The ministry will host a cricket tournament for workers, accompanied by several artistic competitions and events, with the presence of well-known sports figures, as well as a workers' marathon in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council.

Additionally, visits will be organized to labor accommodations and private companies to honor workers' efforts, and to recognize those who have served long years in the country. Special competitions for workers will also be held in collaboration with the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in Dubai and the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, along with media celebrations of cultural diversity and the efforts made by workers in the UAE, and a variety of other events coordinated with the private sector.

For its part, the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence is keen to celebrate workers on their international day with a grand celebration that reflects the significant appreciation of their positive role in driving the UAE's economy, alongside embodying the values of tolerance, coexistence, and acceptance of others within all segments of society in the UAE.
